DYNAMIC PARAPODIUM [PD]
PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS:
- device combines the features of TLSO and HKAFO orthoses
- enables movement (via torso balancing) of a patient with lower limbs paresis
- good front and side stabilisation of the torso
- skid-like feet platforms (lower back fulcrum)
- arched front knee clamps (central fulcrum)
- backwards open lap belt (upper back and front fulcrum) and foot stabilizing belts
- very wide adjustment range to adapt device and provide comfortable and safe use
- optionally: reinforced knee straps, wrist straps, wedge to balance different length of the patient’s lower limbs, rear belt, additional side cushions
INTENDED USE:
Indications of the Dynamic Parapodium in rehabilitation is associated with the assumption that movement (kinesitherapy) is a therapeutic method, providing a stimulus acting specifically on the organism which considerably improves the patient’s quality of life.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Deep mental impairment (unable to be controlled),
- Advanced osteoporosis with lower limb deformation (considerable deviation from the long axes of the extremities),
- Disturbances of body balance (of a high degree),
- Articular contractures (knees, hip joints) over 30’,
- Very strong muscular spasticity in lower extremities.
